Rev. Andrew Steier
Gospel Fluency: Foundation for Worldview Translation
President, Alwaysgoing.org
Andrew is the President of Alwaysgoing.org, the author of Always Going, and is an engaging communicator who uses his passion, humor, and emphasis on clarity to reach and inspire every person in the room. Having spent seven years preaching to students and the next six training believers of all ages, Andrew has become a dynamic speaker regardless of the topic or occasion. He is excited about believers leading overflowing lives in Christ and sharing that effortlessly with others.
Rev. Nick Nowalk
Translating the Good News to Academia
Pastor, Neighborhood Church of Greenwich Village
Nick has served as a pastor at Neighborhood Church since 2021. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in campus ministry in Boston and NYC working with undergrad and graduate students. He did his training at Bethel Seminary and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He has the great privilege and joy to be married to Helen, and to be the father of Tyquawn and Ernest. They love to call Queens home. In his spare time, you can probably find Nick at a local coffee shop with his nose in a book, or exploring the marvelous food scene in New York with Helen.
Rev. Jacob Smith
Translating the Good News to the City
Rector, Calvary-St. George's Episcopal Church, Gramercy Park
Jacob was born on the Navajo Reservation and was raised in Yuma, Arizona. He received his M.Div. from Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry in May 2006 and is passionate about sharing the Gospel. Since 2006, Jacob has served the parish in various capacities and has been the rector since 2017. He has also served the Episcopal Church, Episcopal Diocese of New York, and New York City in various leadership roles and is also a cohost on Same Old Song, the lectionary podcast of Mockingbird Ministries.
Rev. Jan Barendse
Understanding Christ and Culture
Pastor, Assemblies of God — Zaandam, Netherlands
Jan Barendse was born in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and was raised in a ministry family whose work included pioneering Teen Challenge centers and church planting across Europe. After sensing a call to preach at a young age, he studied at Zion Bible College in Rhode Island, where he met his wife, Alla, and they married in 1997. Jan has served as an Assemblies of God pastor in Zaandam, the Netherlands, for more than two decades, leading a highly international congregation with a strong commitment to evangelism and missions. His primary ministry passion is Israel, where he and Alla regularly minister in Messianic congregations and lead study tours that help believers gain a deeper understanding of Scripture.

Our main-session speakers come together for an open conversation on sharing Jesus faithfully and wisely in today's culture. Questions to be discussed:
- What would you say to the timid Christian who loves the Lord, is faithful to the church, but hesitates to share their faith because they don't want to impose on others?
- What two cultural idols most compete with the gospel today, and how do they affect our willingness to speak about Jesus?
- What is cultural intelligence, and how can it help us communicate the unchanging gospel faithfully and wisely in different cultural contexts?
- How can a Christian distinguish between being genuinely respectful of someone and simply being afraid to speak about Jesus?
